Lamentation icon (3) Mounted on wood Sizes:6 X 8Orthodox icon of Lamentation, Epitaphios, Epitafios (4). Icon of 13 cent. In this icon the Most Holy Theotokos is holding in her arms the dead body of our Savior Jesus Christ. On the left on the icon is the Saint and Apostle John the Theologian and on the other side is Saint Joseph of Arimathea holding a white sheet. Commemorated every Holy Friday.
